Amazon is a global technology and e-commerce leader building products that make life easier for millions of customers - from same-day delivery to cloud infrastructure powering half the internet. Founded in a garage in Seattle, the company began as an online bookstore before rapidly expanding into virtually every category imaginable, from electronics and apparel to groceries and pharmaceuticals. Today, Amazon operates one of the largest and most sophisticated logistics networks in the world, spanning fulfillment centers, sortation centers, delivery stations, and a growing fleet of last-mile delivery partners that together ensure packages reach customers' doorsteps in record time. Beyond retail, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has become the backbone of the modern internet, providing scalable compute, storage, database, machine learning, and analytics services to millions of businesses - from ambitious startups to Fortune 500 enterprises and government agencies. AWS's global infrastructure spans dozens of regions and availability zones, offering the reliability and security that mission-critical workloads demand, while continuously innovating with new services in artificial intelligence, generative AI, and edge computing. Amazon's culture is built around a set of leadership principles that guide decision-making at every level of the organization, chief among them Customer Obsession - the belief that success starts and ends with the customer. Employees are encouraged to work backwards from customer needs, to think big, and to take ownership of problems well beyond their immediate scope. This culture of experimentation and long-term thinking has enabled Amazon to repeatedly reinvent itself, launching products and services - from the Kindle e-reader to Alexa-powered smart speakers to Prime Video - that have reshaped entire industries. In India, Amazon has invested heavily in building a homegrown ecosystem of sellers, delivery partners, and technology teams. Bengaluru serves as a major hub for engineering talent, housing teams that build and operate services used by customers around the world, spanning retail technology, cloud infrastructure, advertising, devices, and emerging areas like generative AI and robotics. The India engineering organization works on high-scale, high-availability systems that handle massive traffic during events like the Great Indian Festival sale, requiring deep expertise in distributed systems, security, and performance engineering. For those looking to build a career at Amazon, the company offers a wide range of opportunities across software development, data science, operations, product management, and customer service, with structured career paths, mentorship programs, and access to some of the most challenging technical problems in the industry. Amazon also places a strong emphasis on continuous learning, offering programs like Amazon Career Choice that help employees upskill and grow, along with internal mobility programs that let people move across teams and disciplines as their interests evolve. Sustainability is another pillar of Amazon's long-term strategy, with the company having committed to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 through The Climate Pledge, investing in renewable energy, electric delivery vehicles, and more sustainable packaging. Whether it's through logistics innovation, cloud computing, entertainment, or devices, Amazon continues to operate at a scale and pace that few companies in the world can match, making it a compelling place for ambitious engineers, designers, and operators who want to build things that matter to millions of people every single day.
